Tar Gospel is an exploration of southern religion, people, and nature through the landscape and back roads of western Alabama. In Tar Gospel, lines of poetry have been juxtaposed with photographs of the southern landscape found in western Alabama. This juxtaposition of word and image is an exploration of the connection between people, religion, and nature through the often overlooked religious radio broadcasts that can be heard in most rural parts of the United States.
